Over the past 30 years of representing people both here in Houston as well as around the Country, we’ve worked hard to provide stellar legal representation to individuals from all walks of life, charged with crimes at every level of the Texas and Federal legal system. During that time, we’ve developed relationships not just with Clients, Judges, Prosecutors, and fellow Attorneys, but with Bonding Companies and Private Investigators as well. It’s these relationships that are sometimes just as important as one with a judge or prosecutor, as it can mean the difference in sitting in jail for days or weeks, or being released after only a few hours. When you retain Jack B. Carroll & Associates to represent you, you’re not only getting the skill and expertise of our criminal defense attorneys, but you’re getting our relationships as well.
Why having a preferred bonding company is important
About a decade ago, we moved our office out of one of the high-rises downtown to a smaller building only a few blocks from the courthouse on Franklin St. We did this because it put us closer to the action, allowing us to get from our office to court in a moment’s notice, or to get right over to the jail to meet a client at any time of the day or night.
Another benefit of moving offices is that we had a bonding company, Bayou City Bail Bonds, in the same building. Over the past decade we’ve developed a relationship with the bonding agents, and in turn, they take great care of our clients.
Specifically they will:
- Meet or consult with our client’s and their families 24 hours a day to provide updated information on custody/bonding status.
- Work with our clients from all financial backgrounds, instituting payments plans so that you can get your friend or loved one out of custody first, and focus on paying off the balance later.
- Accompany us to court to navigate a Walk Through Bond, which specifically allows for a client with an open warrant to surrender themselves to court, be “walked through” by the bonding company at the jail, post bond and be released without ever formally going into custody or having to spend the night in jail.
Why having a private investigator is important
One of the things we pride ourselves on is the fact that we conduct the primary investigation on a case ourselves.
We learned a long time ago that despite the fact that you can hire a private investigator to interview witnesses, investigate the crime scene, or look at evidence, nothing makes up for the personal knowledge you get by handling it yourself. That being said, there are many cases where it benefits our clients to have a private investigator on standby to assist in the development of a defense for a case.
Many of the investigators that we employ are former law enforcement officers that can provide a unique perspective when investigating a case. These investigators are members of a network of national and worldwide affiliates that provide a wide range of capabilities. They have the ability to interface with federal, state and local branches of government.
Some of the benefits of hiring a private investigator to assist in your case:
- They are able to investigate, locate, and secure valuable witnesses for trials and hearings;
- They are able to interview people who may be uncomfortable speaking to an attorney such as law enforcement officers or witnesses to a case;
- They can utilize their network and resources to provide a different approach or view to a specific case or problem;
